With November around the corner, it's about time we start thinking about methods to extend those short winter days and add some extra light. Back in the 70s, rumors were that our beloved Wolfi discovered, the means to manipulate Earth's rotation meaning endless summer with lots of light and no lightning at Wolfgang's current location. Long story short: As he was a lightheaded gentleman, in a neglectful moment, his dog ate the paper with the formula.

Now we have Houdini 17 on our CentOS 7 machines and a Mantra renderer to follow Wolfi's legacy. Approach us at www.jobs.risefx.com if you'd like to see it for yourself or if you simply want to hear the long version of Wolfgang's story.

Thanks to Commissioner for Culture and the Media Monika Grütters and her team, VFX vendors in Germany can now apply for the national 25% rebate DFFF2 and combine it with the provincial 20% VFX rebates from MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and FilmFernsehFonds Bayern. This support shows just how important visual effects are both technologically and creatively for the development and innovation in Germany's entire film ecosystem.

Sometimes it's all about presenting facts to show off, isn't it?
This Friday's edition of "How to impress with facts" shows actual scientific proof of the development of the "Frequency of Visual Miracles" over the last 500 years.
Apparently it took a very big hit back in 1888 and stayed on this surprisingly low level until 2007.
The moment RISE was founded is since then known as the "Starting Point of the Century of Visual Miracles!" in very sophisticated scientific circles.
Thanks to RISE we're now on an all-time high regarding "Visual Miracles" and the number keeps on growing.
